Website Development Policy

1. Introduction

This Website Development Policy outlines the terms and conditions governing the website design and development services provided by Kian Hong Press. By engaging our web development services, you agree to abide by the guidelines set forth in this policy. Please read the terms carefully before initiating a project.

2. Project Scope and Agreement

The scope of each website development project is defined in a project proposal, which includes the project’s objectives, deliverables, timeline, and fees. Any additional work or changes outside the agreed scope will require a new agreement and may incur extra charges.

  • Initial Consultation: We begin every project with a thorough consultation to understand your business, objectives, and vision for the website. A detailed project proposal will be drafted based on this discussion.
  • Design and Development: The project will proceed according to the timeline outlined in the proposal, starting with wireframes and mockups, followed by full development.
  • Change Requests: Each project includes up to 3 rounds of revisions during the design phase. Additional changes or feature requests will be considered outside the initial scope and billed accordingly.

3. Intellectual Property and Ownership

Upon final payment, ownership rights of the completed website are transferred to the client, with the following conditions:

  • Client Ownership: The client owns the completed website, including graphics, text, and source code, unless otherwise stated.
  • Designer Rights: Kian Hong Press retains the right to display the project in our portfolio, marketing materials, and case studies unless the client requests confidentiality in writing.
  • Third-Party Components: Any third-party plugins, themes, or stock images used in the project are subject to the licensing terms provided by the original creators. The client is responsible for maintaining these licenses where required.

4. Website Content and Client Responsibilities

The client is responsible for providing all required content, including text, images, and media, unless content creation is included as part of the project. All content must be provided before the project begins to avoid delays.

  • Content Accuracy: The client is solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content supplied for the website.
  • Timely Communication: The client must respond to feedback requests, approvals, and content submissions in a timely manner to keep the project on schedule.

5. Website Maintenance and Support

Our website development services include a 30-day post-launch support period to address any technical issues that may arise. Ongoing maintenance and support are available as separate services.

  • Post-Launch Support: Covers minor updates and bug fixes within 30 days after the website is live.
  • Website Maintenance Plans: We offer monthly or annual maintenance plans to handle content updates, security patches, and performance monitoring.
  • Third-Party Updates: Kian Hong Press is not responsible for issues caused by third-party updates to plugins, themes, or external integrations unless a maintenance plan is in place.

6. Revisions and Change Requests

Revisions are defined as minor adjustments to the layout, content, or functionality of the website. Each project includes up to 3 rounds of revisions during the design and development phase. Any additional changes beyond the agreed scope will be billed at an hourly rate.

  • Major Changes: Adding new features, changing the site structure, or redoing approved designs are considered major changes and will require a separate agreement.
  • Communication of Changes: All revisions and changes must be communicated in writing to ensure clear documentation and understanding.

7. Payment Terms and Fees

All website development projects require a 50% deposit before work begins, with the remaining balance due upon completion and prior to the website launch.

  • Deposit: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the project slot.
  • Final Payment: The final payment is due once the website has been approved and before it goes live. Any delays in final payment may result in project hold.
  • Additional Fees: Additional services such as content creation, extra revisions, or rushed timelines may incur extra charges, which will be communicated beforehand.

8. Cancellations and Refunds

If the client wishes to cancel the project before it is completed, the following conditions apply:

  • Cancellation Before Development: If the project is canceled before development begins, a partial refund may be issued, minus a 25% cancellation fee.
  • Cancellation During Development: If canceled after development has started, the client is responsible for 50% of the total project cost.
  • No Refunds for Completed Projects: Once the final website has been approved and delivered, no refunds will be issued.

9. Limitation of Liability

Kian Hong Press will not be liable for any incidental, consequential, or indirect damages arising from the use or inability to use the developed website, including lost profits, business interruptions, or reputational damage. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the project in question.

10. Governing Law

This Website Development Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising from the use of our web development services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Singapore.
