Acceptable Print Policy
1. Introduction
At Kian Hong Press, we are committed to delivering high-quality print results for every project. To achieve optimal quality and ensure that your final product meets expectations, we have established this Acceptable Print Policy. This policy outlines the guidelines and standards for file preparation, print quality, and acceptable variations. By submitting files for print, you agree to comply with these standards.
2. File Preparation Guidelines
Proper file preparation is crucial to achieving high-quality print results. To ensure your files are print-ready, please follow these guidelines:
- File Formats: We accept print-ready files in PDF, AI, PSD, TIFF, and EPS formats. All files must be submitted in their final form, with no further edits required.
- Resolution: For the best quality, images should be at least 300 DPI (dots per inch) at the actual size they will be printed. Low-resolution images may result in pixelation and reduced print quality.
- Color Mode: All files should be submitted in CMYK color mode. RGB files will be automatically converted to CMYK, which may result in slight color shifts.
- Bleed and Trim Marks: Include a 3mm bleed area on all sides of your artwork and ensure that trim marks are visible. This prevents unwanted white borders during trimming.
3. Color Accuracy and Variations
We strive to produce colors as accurately as possible. However, due to differences in screen displays and print processes, there may be slight variations between the digital file and the final printed product.
- Pantone Colors: For the highest color accuracy, we recommend using Pantone (PMS) colors. Please specify Pantone codes in your design files.
- Color Proofing: We provide digital proofs for review before production. If color precision is critical, we recommend ordering a physical proof.
- Acceptable Color Variations: Minor color variations (up to 10% difference) are considered acceptable due to the nature of print production.
4. Print Quality Standards
We maintain strict quality control throughout the print production process. However, due to the mechanical nature of printing, minor imperfections may occasionally occur.
- Tolerances: Slight misalignments in text or graphics (up to 0.5mm) are considered acceptable.
- Cutting Variations: Due to the nature of the trimming process, minor shifts (up to 1mm) in the final cut are within standard industry tolerances.
- Ink Coverage: Heavy ink coverage may cause minor banding or streaking in large solid areas. If your design includes large solid colors, consider using a lighter ink density.
5. Prohibited Content
We do not accept print orders containing the following types of content:
- Obscene or Offensive Material: Any content that is obscene, vulgar, or promotes hate speech is strictly prohibited.
- Illegal Content: Content that infringes on copyright, promotes illegal activities, or violates local laws is not accepted.
- Misleading or False Information: Any content designed to deceive or misinform is not allowed.
Kian Hong Press reserves the right to reject any print order that does not comply with our standards or violates legal or ethical guidelines.
6. Submission and Approval Process
All files must be submitted according to our file preparation guidelines. Once received, we will review the files and provide a digital proof for approval. The client is responsible for thoroughly checking the proof for accuracy.
- File Review: We will review your files for basic issues such as resolution, bleed, and color mode. We do not proofread or check content for grammatical errors or design flaws.
- Digital Proof Approval: A digital proof will be sent for approval before production begins. Production will not start until we receive written confirmation.
- Physical Proofs: For critical projects, physical proofs are available upon request for an additional fee.
7. Reprinting and Refunds
If the final product significantly deviates from the approved proof or the agreed specifications, Kian Hong Press will reprint the order at no additional cost or issue a partial refund.
- Reprint Policy: Reprints are only issued if there is a substantial defect or deviation in color, quality, or trimming. Minor imperfections or variations within the acceptable range do not qualify for reprints.
- Refund Policy: Refunds are only issued if a reprint is not feasible and the defect is a result of our production error. Refunds will be processed within 14 business days of approval.
8. Limitation of Liability
Kian Hong Press is not responsible for errors in submitted files, including but not limited to typographical errors, incorrect image resolution, or poor color quality resulting from improperly prepared files. Our liability is limited to the cost of the original print order.
9. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update or modify this Acceptable Print Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of our services constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
